IARD respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe your copyright has been infringed on the Site, you may notify our designated Copyright Agent by sending a notice containing the following:

When we receive such a notice, we may, at our discretion, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and/or suspend or terminate the access of the infringing user. If we remove or disable access to material, we will make a good-faith attempt to contact the person who submitted it, so he or she may make a counter notification pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(2) & (3). If we receive such a counter notification, we may reinstate the material. To file a counter notification, you must provide a written notice to our above Copyright Agent that does the following:

    • Provides your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address.
    • Provides a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or Washington, D.C., if your address is outside of the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(1)(C) or an agent of such person.
    • Identifies the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled (i.e., the specific URLs or other unique identifying information).
    • States under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
    • Provides your physical or electronic signature.

Conditions for Reproduction and/or Translation

We welcome dissemination of IARD publications and materials available on our Web site through translation and/or reproduction. For your convenience, you may use the Reproduction/Translation Permission Form to request permission to translate and/or reproduce IARD work. Several conditions must be met in order to obtain such permission:

  1. The translated material or reproduction should not be used in association with commercial or promotional activities.
  2. The translated material or reproduction must appropriately acknowledge its source, either as a footnote or in the reference list. For instance, in case of a translation, such acknowledgement should state:“Originally published in [language]: [Full citation, including Author(s), Title, etc.]

  3. The translated publication or reproduction must retain all disclaimers from the original. For instance:“The opinions expressed in this publication are those of the individual author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking or its sponsors.” In the case of translations, the disclaimer(s) should appear in both English and the target language(s).
  4. It is the responsibility of the applicant to seek copyright permission for any material (for example, figures, artwork, text boxes) that has appeared in IARD work with credit or acknowledgement to another source.
  5. A final proof of the translation or reproduction must be sent to IARD before publication for approval.
  6. A copy of the translated material or reproduction must be sent to IARD after publication.
  7. IARD shall hold copyright to any translated or reproduced material.
